When my twins were in their last year of high school, I made a commitment to myself that I would travel more after they graduated. My bucket list included visiting all 50 states in the USA, Canada, and six of the seven continents on God’s big green earth.
Ten years later, I’ve only scratched the surface of my list. I've visited 21 states, Canada, and several islands within one continent. I have 29 more states to see and five continents to visit. My goal is to complete my bucket list over the next five years.
Why wait? There will always be a reason to put off going on that dream vacation or romantic getaway or even the cruise of a lifetime. Take vacations! You can always make money, but you can't always make memories.
I've spoken to many people who have commented, “we need to go to this place and that place”, but never follow through with it. My own family said it many times but rarely acted on it until it was too late for one of my loved ones.
For many years, my four sisters and I were supposed to take a sisters trip. We always talked about it but it never happened. My oldest sister, Loretta didn’t get to enjoy the Sisters Getaways we have now. We have taken Sister Getaways for the past 11 years since her passing. She would have loved them.
My passion is to make memories all over the world with the people I meet, the people I know, and the people I love. Even if it’s only two of us, a small group of us or a family reunion size. The best things in life are the people you love, the places you’ve seen, and the memories you’ve made along the way. I'm all about making memories for myself and others. That’s why now is the time to create memories for a lifetime.
